Wishful Thinking

Incorporating art & creativity into your busy, every day routine... discovering that you DO have an artistic side... giving yourself the confidence and freedom to pursue this, in an approachable way... welcome to modern scrapbooking.

You are listening to a song called World, by Five for Fighting. This song has such a beautiful message. Now, I don't want you to think we are going to change the world at this event. The message I want you to take with you is that we make each day what it is....all on our own. We get up each day and what we do becomes "history", it's what we are leaving behind, our legacy. I want you to be thinking of this as you are preparing for this event. We will not change the world, but we can change ours. We are scrapbookers. Our job is to preserve memories. Luckily, our job is fun and creative! We are going to have so many fun projects. Getting our hands dirty and being creative!
"Be careful what you wish for, history starts now!"

Wow, this is our 4th annual EVENT! It's so exciting! Thanks for giving us the opportunity to continue doing these events. I know times are tough for a lot of people. But..........we will still scrapbook. It's not an expensive hobby......well, not THAT expensive ;) ...........and what we get from doing it is so rewarding. Not only for ourselves, but also those that "enjoy" what we create.

We are going to have so much fun celebrating National Scrapbooking Day together! We will have fun hanging out with our fellow scrapbookers doing what we love on the day that celebrates just that!

Go ahead and subscribe to this blog - we will be updating everything here along with our emails.

The Workshops

We are offering 6 unique workshops and you get to take every single one of them. Every attendee will receive the exact same experience. Each teacher will be teaching one workshop each. There may be a little "homework" that you will work on before you come. Most of it is not mandatory. It is offered and will usually mean that you will leave with a completed project. I know that some people are totally "homework" type people- they love all the preparation, and other people love to wing it- spontaneity is more their thing. With whichever choice you make, you are operating in your own creative process and we totally encourage that!

We are very excited to add an Artist's Workshop on Thursday. We will have time for you to come by and try different techniques and maybe work on some things that will help you in your classes! Hopefully, this will help complete projects during the class time.

All project specific materials will be provided. You will be responsible only to bring your basic tools and adhesives and your completed assignments with you. These Workshops will consist of lectures, altered projects, mini-albums, layouts and more. You will leave with a wide variety of projects!

The Event cost

The Event fee is $399, which includes all 6 workshops, all activities during the event and 2 event socials. Friday and Saturday night we will all get together for a special snack and activities.

There will also be designated crop time! Yes, we have heard your requests and want to give you time to get those projects finished and work on more scrapbooking! Resort room rates are not included in the price of the event.

This year we are offering an Early Bird Special. Registration will begin on December 8th. Everyone who registers in the first 2 weeks will receive a rate of $299. After the early bird registration has ended, we will send you exclusive access to extra goodies to prepare you for the Scrap ETC event 2009!

The price will increase to $349 on December 22nd. On January 1st the price will go to $399 and stay there until it is sold out.

The Resort info ETA

We chose Atlanta to have our event this year! We are so excited about being in this fabulous city. I was just there this weekend and can't believe how much there is to do. You will want to stay forever!

The hotel is the Crowne Plaza Perimeter Ravinia. We did a little research all over the city. This was our last appointment of the day. We walked in and knew right away, this was the place for our event! It is absolutely beautiful! They have done so many recent renovations and the grounds are gorgeous! The meeting space is perfect for scrapbookers! We need plenty of space and plenty of light! This place has it all.

Eta: I just talked to Kerston and they are going to have our event code ready tomorrow afternoon! I guess we are a little too quick for them! You can call 1-888-233-9527 for your reservations. When you call you can tell them you are with the Scrap ETC event and they should give you the group rate. Just know that no one has a room, yet!

The last day to make reservations is April 9th.
